Brendan Kennelly Summer Festival begins in Ballylongford

The Brendan Kennelly Summer Festival starts tonight in his home village of Ballylongford. The festival is regarded as one of the most popular literary and culture events in Ireland with a mixture of politics art and drama. The official opening will take place at 7.30 pm this evening, in the festival centre courtyard at St Oliver National School. Ulster Politician David Ervine from the Progressive Unionist Party will deliver the keynote speech on this year`s theme which is ‘Difference’. The festival continues until August 7th.
