Brendan Kennelly presented with Kerry Association in Dublin Arts Award

Brendan Kennelly has been named as the inaugural recipient of the Kerry Association in Dublin Arts Award.

The Ballylongford native was presented with the honour by President Michael D Higgins at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin who said Mr Kennelly has had an immense influence on Irish arts and society.

Mr Kennelly, a renowned poet and writer, was presented with a bespoke piece of Dingle Crystal.

The Kerry Association in Dublin was established in 1951 and aims to develop the great sporting, literary and cultural heritage of Kerry.
