Boy racers warned to stay out of Killarney this weekend

Boy racers have been warned to stay out of Killarney this weekend – or risk having their cars seized.

The warning comes from Inspector Tony Sugrue, who says there will be a strong Garda presence at the annual Rally of the Lakes, including an armed support unit.

Inspector Sugrue was speaking this morning at the launch of the rally, which is now in its 40th year.

The Rally of the Lakes this weekend will see garda units from both the town and its hinterland in operation.

Inspector Tony Sugrue, speaking in Killarney today, said that external units from both the Kerry Division and outside of the county will be visible this week.

This will include an armed support unit and a dog unit, and he has this message for boy racers.

Patrick O’Donoghue of the Gleneagle Hotel is looking forward to the event, which is in its 40th year.
