Better vetting of local authority tenants needed to stop anti-social behaviour

There needs be more stringent vetting of local authority tenants to stop anti-social behaviour.

That’s according to Tralee Independent Councillor Sam Locke.

Cllr Locke was speaking after a reply to a Dáil question which stated that new powers had been granted to local authorities in 2014 to take action against anti-social tenants.

Cllr Locke said the executive of Kerry County Council needs to know that they have the power to act to safeguard communities.

Cllr Locke also said the council needs to remove tenants that are carrying out anti-social behaviour.
