Bar robbery trial continues at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A garda has told a jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court that he arrested a woman on suspicion of burglary after receiving confidential information. Detective Garda Michael O`Sullivan was giving evidence in the trial of 2 women accused of robbing 51 thousand pounds from the owner of a County Kerry bar.Nora O`Reilly and Margaret Doherty of Kilbarry, County Waterford both deny taking money from Mr Jeremiah Griffin at Griffin’s bar in Castlemaine on the 22nd of August 1999. Detective Garda O`Sullivan told prosecuting council, Mary Rose Gearty, that he arrested Mrs Doherty after receiving information from a source who had been reliable in the past.Garda Padraig Connolly gave evidence that he was in charge at Waterford Garda Station on the morning of Mrs Doherty arrest on august 26th 2002. He agreed with John Whelan SC for Mrs Doherty that he didn’t offer her a cup of tea or breakfast after finding out that she was four months pregnant. However he said that if she had asked for a cup of tea or breakfast it would have been provided for her. The trail continues before Judge Michael White.
