Bank of Ireland speak out on farmer protest

Bank of Ireland says it’s being wrongly targeted by protestors over the collapse of Tralee Beef and Lamb. Over 100 farmer creditors occupied the bank’s branch in Tralee yesterday evening. Gardai were called and the farmers left the building an hour after they had arrived. In a statement released to Radio Kerry News, Bank of Ireland says the protest is unjustified because the IFA has accepted that the bank has no responsibility. Creditors say they will close their accounts next month.
