Baby found in skip in Limerick is buried in Newcastlewest

Gardai are not ruling out the possibility that the mother of the baby found dead in a rubbish skip in Limerick four weeks ago may have attended the infant’s burial service today. The baby, named Aidan by Gardai, was laid to rest in Newcastlewest. He was found at a skip hire yard near Broadford and a postmortem showed the baby did not survive after being born. Superintendant Tom Gavin says despite numerous appeals to people in Kerry, Limerick and Cork the baby’s mother has not come forward.
