Kerry County Council has been awarded €36,500 by the Arts Council.
The grant is part of the Arts Council’s “Invitation to Collaboration” scheme which seeks to promote greater access and engagement with the arts by working together.
Kerry County Council, along with Kildare and Tipperary County Councils, are to develop a dance and health programme together.
The aim is to deepen the place of dance in healthcare in partnership with local authorities, health professionals, communities and dance artists.
Dance has proven to benefit people with chronic, degenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
