Another twist in the theft of Tralee’s giant plastic ice cream cone

A large plastic ice cream cone, which was stolen from outside a Tralee shop, has been returned to its owners.

The item was taken from O’Connor’s Spar and Circle K, Rathass and Gardaí made an appeal for information on the TalkAbout programme.

They stated it was possibly a student prank or was carried out by people on the way home from a night out.

The appeal attracted widespread attention, and subsequently led to the plastic cone being returned this week in the dead of night.

Ciaran O’Connor, from the Rathass store, says these cones cost in the region of €400; he is delighted it was returned and didn’t need to be replaced.
