An Taisce Opposes Planning Development in Ballylongford

An Taisce is to continue it`s opposition to a two house planning development in a secondary special amenity area in Ballylongford. Two locals also expressed their opposition to the development which had originally looked for permission for four houses. However, this was knocked back by Kerry County Council and allowed instead for two houses to be built. Submissions claiming the houses are in a special protected area and a special area of conservation have been rejected by the landowner. The land in question is in a secondary special amenity area and he is now looking for an Bord Pleanala to grant permission for four houses. The Board will make a decision on the development in the coming months.
