An Post Union Kerry representative wants working group proposals legislated

Irish Postmasters Union A government backed business development group has been announced to support the Post Office Network. The aim of the group, which will be lead by businessman Bobby Kerr, will be to examine opportunities to deliver more government and commercial business through Post Offices. The Irish Postmasters Union is welcoming the announcement and says it is worrying that Social Welfare payments, which account for 30% of their business, is now increasingly being paid by electronic transfer. There are over 40 post offices in Kerry. Tom O Callaghan, IPU spokesperson for Kerry, says he would like to see the proposal’s of the working group legislated for, otherwise he says it is fruitless.
