The Stars and Stripes with the names of those killed in 9/11 is being flown today at Listowel Races.
The Guinness Kerry National is the feature race on day four of the Harvest Festival, on what is the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, which killed almost 3,000 people in the United States.
Michael Burke from Castleisland was living in New York at the time, and lost many friends in 9/11.
He says it’s vitally important to remember those who died, and says when asked to fly the American flag in honour of today’s anniversary, Listowel Race Company agreed straight away.
