Action day planned to highlight lack of funding for violence against women

Coordinator of the Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre says she believes the issue of violence against women has fallen off the political agenda. A day of action is being held by the centres around the country to highlight the fact they have not received an increase in funding for the last three years. She says plans to increase or develop services further are continually put on hold because of a lack of funding. The centre is also carrying a deficit of 30,000 from last year. Vera O Leary says if they were to receive an increase in funding they would develop their outreach service.
