86% increase in adaptation grants for older people and those with a disability in Kerry

There’s been an 86% increase in the amount of money allocated to Kerry for adaptation grants for older people and those with a disability.

Kerry County Council has revealed that it has €2.2 million this year for housing aid for the elderly, mobility aid grants, and housing adaptation grants for people with disabilities; that’s up from €1.6 million in 2014.

The funding has been increasing every year; it was almost €1.8 million in 2015, and €2.1 million last year.

The council revealed the details in response to a question from Fianna Fáil Cllr John Joe Culloty.
