720 fines issued in Kerry for vehicles parked on footpaths

720 fines were issued last year in Kerry for vehicles parked on public footpaths.

The figure was released by Kerry County Council following a motion from Cllr Michael Gleeson who called for this scourge, which greatly inconveniences pedestrians and people with disabilities, to be eliminated.

The local authority has a traffic warden service in nine towns.

Cllr Gleeson’s motion is to be referred to the next Joint Policing Committee meeting for consideration by Gardai.
