Kerry’s CAO applicants are among the best in the country at securing college places.
That’s according to Tralee-based career guidance counsellor Billy Ryle.
More than 70% of Leaving Cert students in Kerry will progress to higher education, another 20% will secure places in further education, apprenticeships and traineeships.
Mr Ryle says students were focussed on the jobs market with their course choices.
He added that due to a shortage of accommodation and the cost of third level many students may have to make a daily return commute from Kerry to Limerick or Cork.
Round One CAO offers must be accepted by 5.15pm this Friday.
