593 planning applications were granted in the county in the three months of July August and September of this year. Of this figure 352 were for houses while 148 applications were for extensions to existing dwellings. Nationally planning permissions were given the go ahead for over 14,000 new houses. This compares with 13,501 applications that were granted for the same period last year, an increase of over 6%. One off houses accounted for 32% of all new dwellings granted planning for the same three months of this year.
