4th For Irish Rider On Tour De France

Ireland’s Dan Martin finished in fourth place today on stage three of the Tour de France. Martin agonisingly missed-out on a podium finish after a controversial day of action that was overshadowed by a high-speed crash approaching the first climb of the day. The race had to be stopped for 15 minutes to allow riders to receive medical attention before it was re-started behind the race officials car. Joaquim Rodriguez of the Katusha team won the stage, with Team Sky’s Chris Froome finishing in second place to take over the race leader’s yellow jersey. Martin finished just a second behind third-placed Alexis Vuillermoz.
