45% of Kerry GPs sign up for under-sixes scheme

It’s reported that just 45 percent of general practitioners in Kerry have signed up for the new scheme which will provide free GP care for children under the age of six. header Figures released by the HSE show that, so far, 39 contracts have been signed by doctors in Kerry but that the majority of the county’s GPs have yet to do so. GPs who have not signed up can continue to charge a child’s parents a private fee. The provision of free primary care to those under six is due to commence next month.
