A FG Councillor has denied the party is trying to put off a decision on planning for Lidl until after the local elections in June. The German supermarket chain needs a material contravention to gain planning. Yesterday the four members of FG stayed away from a meeting on the issue claiming proper procedure was not being followed.Cllr Denis Stack says there is no attempt to bury the matter ahead of the election. He says he’ll debate the Lidl proposal at the councils monthly meeting next week in accordance with procedure.
