Around 30 people from Kerry have signed a letter calling on the Taoiseach to establish a Citizen’s Assembly to discuss the reunification of Ireland.

The letter, published in today’s Irish Times, includes signatories from Ireland and overseas who want to record their deep concerns about the negative repercussions from Brexit.

The group says discussion about the reunification of Ireland has moved centre stage and a new conversation is needed about the shared future on the island of Ireland.

They say the majority of people in Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU and are urging Leo Varadkar to plan for discussions on the subject.
