The Progressive Democrats will announce later this week the three candidates who’ll run for the party in June`s local elections. Ballybunion-based postman Ger Burke will stand in the Listowel area. The 43-year old has confirmed to Radio Kerry News that he’s joined the Progressive Democrats.Colette Garvey, who helped set up the women’s refuge adapt, is set to run in the Tralee county area. Elsewhere, Kathleen O’Regan-Shepherd will confirm she’s to stand in Killarney. Former I.F.A.County Chairman James Doyle is still to make a final decision, but says it’s unlikely he’ll be a candidate in June.Party president and Justice Minister Michael Mc Dowell will chair a meeting of the Progressive Democrats on Friday night in Killarney. The party will also hold its annual conference in Killarney next march.
