The Cathaoirleach or Mayor of Killarney Brendan Cronin says it is disgraceful behaviour.

He says as a collective, we have all done tremendous work to ensure that the number of new cases remains as low as possible in Killarney and Kerry.

Cllr Cronin says this type of behaviour is a kick in the teeth and is unacceptable:

Meanwhile, Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin says there’s no excuse for the scenes in Killarney overnight.

He says it was shameful, adding the people involved were old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.

The Deputy Government Chief Whip says this behaviour can’t be tolerated and everyone has an obligation to act responsibly and not to contribute to the problem.
