This year’s Kerry team for the National Ploughing Championships has been revealed.
17 men and women from the county will travel to Screggan in Co Offaly to compete in 15 classes from next Tuesday to Thursday (18th to 20th September).
The group already have eleven All-Ireland titles between them.
Last year, Causeway cousins Colm Dineen and Michael P Donegan struck gold bringing home two All-Ireland titles.
Chair of the Kerry Ploughing Association, Thomas Healy believes that everyone on this year’s team is capable of winning in Tullamore and building on the 45 titles already brought to Kerry:
Meanwhile, a Ballyheigue man has been selected to represent Ireland in the Five Nations Ploughing Championships to be held in Northern Ireland later this month.
The two-day event takes place on the 28th and 29th of September in Derry.
Michael O’Halloran will also be competing at the National Ploughing Championships and has previously won three titles.
He says it is a dream come true to be selected:
