The number of people on Kerry’s Live Register fell 14% in a year.
That’s according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.
In December, 9,266 people signed on the Live Register in Kerry, which was a 4.6% increase compared to the previous month but a 14% drop on the same month of 2016.
All seven social welfare offices in the county showed monthly increases in December.
Killarney had the highest increase of 167 to 1,595, followed by Dingle up 61 to 609 and an extra 56 in Listowel brings its total to 1,674.
Tralee jumps 44 to 3,936, Killorglin is up 37 to 702, an extra 34 brings Kenmare to 354 and Caherciveen rises 15 to 396.
