Almost 140 (139) bicycles have been stolen in Kerry over the past 18 months.
Bike thefts are continuing to rise around the country, according to the Garda Analysis Services.
The figures were compiled between January 2016 to June 2018 and nationally almost €2 million worth of bicycles were stolen.
The figures were released at the Garda ‘Lock It or Lose It’ campaign launch.
Gardaí are now appealing to local cyclists to take extra precautions to keep their bicycles safe.
They are urging Kerry cyclists to lock bikes in the most secure way possible.
