There were just over one thousand marriages registered in Kerry last year.
That’s according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.
1,024 marriages were registered in Kerry in last year, with the average age of grooms 36.7 years and brides 34.9 years.
In both cases this is above the national average.
In 2016, there were 1,003 opposite sex marriages in Kerry.
712 were Catholic, 151 were civil marriages, 65 were humanist, 39 were The Spiritualist Union of Ireland, 10 were Church of Ireland and 26 were other religious denominations.
There were 21 same sex marriages in Kerry; eleven male and ten female.
13 were civil marriages, four were humanist, two were The Spiritual Union of Ireland and the remaining two were other religious denominations.
At the end of December 2015, Tralee Circuit Court received 111 divorce applications, 92 were granted.
There were 37 judicial separations and 28 granted, one application for nullity and two granted.
There were 11 civil partnership applications and four granted.
