Some of the highest temperatures in Europe were recorded in Valentia in South West Kerry on Saturday. It was the hottest March day in over 100 years as temperatures reached over 20 degrees. Warm air coming from France and Spain contributed to the hot weather and Kerry temperatures exceeded many traditional European hot spots. Beaches across the county were packed as a result of the unseasonably hot weather.
