Waiting times for the driving test in Kerry have reduced

Waiting times for the driving test in Kerry have reduced.

The Road Safety Authority calculates the current average waiting time for a Category B driving test for each test centre across the country.

The Road Safety Authority aims to have a national average waiting time for a driving test of no longer than 10 weeks.


The waiting time to sit a driving test in Killarney is now 13.6 weeks; however, this is marginally shorter than in April of this year, when drivers experienced a waiting time of 14.5 weeks.

Waiting times in the Tralee test centre are also reduced; down from 16 weeks to 12.8 weeks, representing a 20% drop in three months.

The longest time a driver has had to wait remains over 20 weeks in both centres; the longest wait in Tralee was 23 weeks, while the longest waiting time in Killarney was 25 weeks.
