More than 2,000 Kerry students have spent the morning making plans for the future, having received their Leaving and Leaving Cert Applied exam results today. 1,935 students got Leaving Certificate results in the county, while another 96 Leaving Cert Applied students found out how they fared. Most of those will go on to third level, and have a further wait until Monday, when the college places will be announced. Wicklow Rose Megan Swart collected her Leaving Certificate results today and she told Shannonside FM she is delighted: [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/43917/medium/”] Gardaí in Kerry are encouraging Leaving Cert students to celebrate their results in a safe and responsible manner. Supt Flor Murphy of Killarney Garda Station said this a huge day in the lives of young people. He said the celebrations are well deserved but that gardaí will be proactive in ensuring that there is no antisocial behaviour or public disorder as a result. He added that additional resources will be deployed in this regard to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.
