Restrictions on visitors at Tralee general hospital have been lifted today. The hospital is reporting a clean bill of health after two weeks of the winter vomiting bug. Elderly patients in the long stay ward were struck by the virus last month and management at the hospital asked people to stay away for 72 hours. Visiting was confined to adults only. The numbers affected rose to nearly 20 ahead of the August bank holiday week-end, but stabilised after that. However, two fresh cases were reported last week and further restrictions were put in place.
