Four tonnes of Valentia slate will be transported to London this week to be laid in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. The work is to begin next week when the summer recess begins. In March, Valentia Slate confirmed that they had won the contract to supply flooring for Westminster.Director Michael Lyne expects to supply more next year as further replacement work is done. He’s also hoping that visitors to Westminster will take an interest and place orders. A temporary bridge is to be built in one part of the Houses of Parliament to allow tours to continue while the floor underneath is re-laid. The original Valentia Slate Company also delivered flooring slabs to Westminster.
