Valentia divisional controller says Sligo rescue shows this work never stops

The divisional controller with the Irish Coast Guard for Valentia says the rescue of eight men off the Sligo coast yesterday shows this work never stops despite tragedy.

John Draper was speaking after attending Captain Dara Fitzpatrick’s funeral yesterday.

The search continues today for the other three crew of Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 – Captain Mark Duffy, winch operator Paul Ormsby, and winchman Ciarán Smith.

John Draper says Paul Ormsby was involved in the rescue of his own brother five years ago.
