Valentia Coast Guard assist in man overboard rescue off Cork coast

A person has been rescued from the water off the Cork coast after falling from a US ship – called the Eagle, this morning. Valentia CoastguardValentia Coast Guard received a mayday call reporting a “man overboard” in the sea five miles from Cork Harbour. Local rescue services were tasked but stood down ten minutes later after the ship confirmed they had rescued the person and needed no further assistance. The US coastguard ship the Eagle was in the area to pay a courtesy call to Ireland.
