The people of Valentia Island are celebrating the official opening of a residential and day care centre for people with special needs living in the area. Tig An Oileain is home to six young people who come from the Iveragh Peninsula. It means they can live locally instead of having to move away to other centres in the county. Former Kerry footballer Mick O`Connell and his wife Rosaline, whose son Diarmuid is part of the community of Tig An Oileain donated the site. Chief Executive of Kerry parents and friends Tony Darmody says the people of Valentia have given their full support.
