Over 2 thirds of planning applications were granted in the Killarney area from the beginning of the year up until the end of October. Figures just released show that almost 500 planning applications were granted out of a total of over 750 applications. Of the applications received by The County Council for the Killarney electoral area 140 or just over 18 per cent were refused. Meanwhile 72 applications were withdrawn including requests for one-off houses, multi housing developments, holiday homes and commercial or industrial developments. Of those withdrawn 16 have been resubmitted of which 8 were granted permission.
