Gardai are appealing for informaiton following two separate road crashes that claimed the lives of two people in the county this Bank Holiday Weekend. A woman motorcyclist died in a crash at Pike Hill two kilometres from Killarney on the main Cork Road just before 5.30pm on Saturday evening. The woman from west Cork who was in her 50s is believed to have been attending a Harvey Davison motorcycle event in the town this weekend. Separately, the man in his 30s who died in hospital after being injured in a single-vehicle road crash on Friday evening has been named. He was John Riordan of Listry Faha. Mr. Riordan was the only occupant of a four-wheel drive vehicle, which hit a tree shortly before 8pm at Lahard near Beaufort. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses in both accidents to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064-6671160.
