Two detained and more arrests may follow in relation to Killarney burglaries

Gardai have not ruled out further arrests in their investigation into a spate of burglaries in the Killarney area at the weekend. Garda Station sign Two men remain in custody this evening – one in Tralee Garda station and one in Killarney – in connection with the burglaries, which occurred on Sunday last, the day of the Munster football finals. A total of three men, who have addresses in Tralee and Castleisland, were initially arrested by Gardai in Killarney, but one has since been released. Searches are still taking place, and Gardaí are also looking for the public’s help in relation to the suspicious movement of vehicles or people, in the Kilcummin and Scart Cross areas on Sunday. Meanwhile the Gardaí have also advised the public to fully secure their homes, and to report any suspicious activity  to their local Garda station.
