The traditional heating fuel, turf is making a come back this year due to the ever rising costs of oil. Iveragh Co-Op has sold up to 15,000 tonnes of turf already this year and its first harvest has been completely booked out. This is welcome news for the co-op which has gone through tough times in the past two years since the closure of the esb’s deelish power station which it supplied. Dan Barry Chairman of Iveragh Co-Op believes woodpelleting is the way forward.
