Corona Borealis finished second in the Connacht Derby at Sligo a fortnight ago and bids to go one better in the “Sligo Champion Supporting Sligo GAA Maiden this evening”. Corona Borealis has lined up at Sligo twice already, finishing second on both of those starts, and will be hoping to make it third time lucky under Niall McCullagh later today. There are seven other races at Sligo and trainer Colin Bowe looks to have found a similarly decent opportunity for his “Tawseef” to get off the mark in the “Kilcawley Construction Sligo Maiden Hurdle”. The six-year-old has run some fine efforts in defeat, including finishing second in a hot maiden hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter festival, and this assignment looks to be well within his compass. Regular pilot Andrew McNamara retains the ride. The first race at Sligo is off at 4.50 with the going good.
