Tributes have been paid to the former president of Mary Immaculate College, Professor Peadar Cremin, a native of Tralee. Mary Immaculate College Professor Cremin, , who passed away on Monday, joined the staff of the Limerick teacher training college in 1976 as a lecturer in the Education Department. He was appointed president of the college in 1999, the first lay person to hold the position in its 101-year history Current president Professor Michael Hayes said he had worked tirelessly to develop the college. Fellow Kerryman and Bishop of Limerick, Brendan Leahy, said Professor Cremin would always have a special place in the history of the college.
