Tralee’s water pipe problem to be rectified by 2008.

There has been 15 water pipe breaks in the Tralee area since the start of the year according to the Senior Executive Engineer for housing and water Tim McSweeney. This is primarily due to the high percentage of old cast iron pipes in the town which Tralee Town Council are in the process of up grading. Mr McSweeney says the water piping system in the town is due an overhaul and the council aims to have the problem fully rectified by 2008.
