Tralee woman plans to climb eight mountains in a year for Concern

Sarah Guerin BenNevisA Tralee woman is planning to climb eight mountains this year, including Africa’s highest peak Kilimanjaro. 23-year-old Sarah Guerin begins the challenge in Mayo on April 16th by climbing Mweelrea near Westport, before tackling the highest mountain in each of the provinces. The Ph D student in Physics at the University of Limerick  will then go on to climb The Three Glens in Wicklow, Carraauntoohil in Kerry, before heading to the UK to climb Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. Sarah has taken on the challenge as part of Concern Worldwide’s, Climb4Concern to raise funds for people living in extreme poverty. She will begin her ascent of the 5.9km high Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in October.
