Tralee river search deemed “false alarm with good intent”

A search carried out this evening for a person believed to have fallen into the water near the canal in Tralee has turned out to be a “false alarm”. Valentia Coastguard confirmed to Radio Kerry News that they received a call about a person potentially seen in the water near the Aquadome in Tralee. Shannon Helicopter Shannon Rescue Helicopter 115 and Glenderry Coastguard were tasked to the scene and a thorough and complete search was carried out on the river and surrounding canal area. The search was stood down by 5.30pm this evening – Valentia Coastguard described the incident to Radio Kerry News as a “false alarm with good intent”.
