A Tralee man facing a charge of robbery at a service station during which staff were threatened with a hatchet has been granted bail subject to a number of conditions. 40 year old Emmett Coffey of Fountain Court, Tralee appeared before Tralee District Court in relation to the incident at Kelliher’s Toyota Car Sales at Rathass on Wednesday January 27th. Last week Mr Coffey was charged with robbery and separately was also charged in relation to a burglary of a house in Tralee last September. He had been in custody since his arrest last week. This week Mr. Coffey was released on bail subject to a number of conditions, including that he sign on at Tralee Garda station 3 times a week, does not go within 50 metres of Kelliher’s Toyota Car Sales and gives 24 hours notice of any change of address. He is to appear again before Tralee District Court on April 27th.
