Tralee has most expensive house prices in Kerry.

Kerry has one of the lowest house prices in a rural area in the country according to a survey released. Sites in neighbouring Cork situated a similar distance from a town cost 60,000 euro more. Three towns in Kerry were surveyed, Listowel Tralee and Castleisland. Of these three not surprisingly Tralee was the most expensive with the average house price recorded at 230,000 euro.Listowel fared the cheapest of the three coming in at 190,000 for a three bedroomed house on the outskirts of the town. House prices in other popular tourist destinations are also comparatively quite low. However holiday homes in tourist counties are considered separate from residential homes by auctioneers. However the survey does show that prices have increased substantially over the last two years.Nationally areas of Cavan, Laois Louth Westmeath and Meath have benefited from Dublin`s commuter belt. House prices in these counties have registered significant increases in the past two years. A slowdown on house price increases has been forecast for this year according to the survey, which may give perspective house buyers around the county a chance of buying their own home.
