Gardaí in Tralee are investigating the circumstances of a collision on the grounds of University Hospital Kerry on Tuesday morning. The accident, which is being treated as a “serious incident” because it occurred on the hospital’s grounds and not on a public road, involved two cars. It is understood the driver of one of the cars may have suffered a cardiac arrest before colliding with another vehicle near the Emergency Department at around 10am. A female passenger escaped without serious injury. The owner of the other car was returning to it at the time and was not injured. The Health Service Executive has confirmed an accident took place on the grounds of the hospital but said it will not be commenting further on the matter.
