Tralee crime text scheme leads to arrests and bench warrants in first week

Tralee’s See Something, Say Something campaign has led to arrests and bench warrants being issued after 50 reports were made in the first week.

It’s an initiative which encourages locals to report suspicious behaviour that may need Garda intervention, by free texting Tralee and the incident details to 50555.

The message will be received by the sergeant on duty and will be acted upon immediately.

It was launched by Tralee Chamber Alliance in partnership with An Garda Síochána.

Tralee based company ZinMobi has sponsored the development and delivery of the project, and its Managing Director Brian Stephenson says it’s been phenomenally successful so far.
