A traffic management plan for Killarney due to be completed next month will indicate what parking solutions are required in the town. That’s according to Kerry County Council in reply to a motion by Independent Cllr Brendan Cronin at this month’s meeting of the Killarney Municipal District. Cllr Cronin asked the council carry out an assessment to identify the suitability of possible sites for the development of a multi-storey car park. In December the president of Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce Kate O’Leary said Killarney needs a multi storey carpark, claiming at least 400 new car parking spaces are needed in the town. Proposals around the construction of a multi storey car park in Killarney have been mooted for many years. The Traffic Management Plan, which it’s hoped will offer parking solutions, is due to be completed mid March.
