Traffic disruptions to Tralee Bypass

Part of the Tralee bypass was closed today and motorists can expect further disruptions next week. Tralee Bypass complete Kerry County Council says a number of sections have been closed to allow for the removal of arrows that were placed on the road. The council says the arrows are being removed following complaints from motorists. Part of the northbound carriageway of the Tralee bypass from Ballygarry roundabout to the roundabout leading to IT Tralee was closed today but was due to reopen at 4.30pm. This section of the bypass will be open for the weekend but will close again between 9am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday next week in order to carry out essential maintenance works to the cycle track and verge area. There’ll also be disruption to traffic at the Lissatanvally roundabout, the northern tie-in roundabout which leads on to the N69 Listowel road. This’ll take place next Wednesday and will affect southbound traffic. Diversions will be in place. Kerry County Council has apologised for the inconvenience. It says the arrows which are being removed were constructed to standard  when the road was being built. However, the local authority received complaints from motorists who said they found them confusing.
